Kamoizumi Brewery

One of Saijo’s most notable breweries, Kamoizumi has offered tours showcasing traditional sake-making methods, though these tours are currently suspended due to COVID-19 precautions. Visitors can still enjoy tasting sessions that highlight the rich flavors of locally crafted sake. Kamoizumi Brewery also operates Shusenkan, where a variety of sake is served, allowing guests to experience flavors unique to their craft.

Kagamiyama Park

Located near Higashihiroshima’s city center, this park offers beautiful scenery throughout the year. It’s especially popular for cherry blossoms in spring, attracting numerous visitors for hanami.

Minaga Reservoir Dam

The Minaga Reservoir, located in Higashihiroshima is a gravity-style concrete dam with a rich historical significance. It is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property and recognized as one of the “Top 100 Modern Waterworks.” Locally known as “Minaga Reservoir,” it’s a beloved spot for cherry blossoms and famous for its wisteria trellises. With around 100 wisteria trees planted along a 300-meter stretch, the trellis is considered one of the finest in the Kansai region. Each year, visitors can enjoy the vibrant blooms from late March through mid-May, when the area is open to the public.
